An empty hillside lot in Echo Park is set for development with new homes, per a recent application to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.
Slated for a property at 1666 N. Alvarado Street, the proposal from applicant Joanne Kootsikas calls for the construction of nine residential units through a combination of small lot homes and accessory dwelling units.
Architect Dave Parker is designing the project, which would consist of contemporary four-story buildings with ground-level parking.
The proposed development will require vacating an unbuilt segment of Effie Street which cuts through the site.
The project site is located due west of a new development under construction at 1655 N. Allesandro Street featuring 41 apartments.
