In Westchester, completion is nearing for the neighborhood's first permanent supportive housing complex.

The Redtail Crossing apartments, which come from non-profit developer Community Corp. of Santa Monica, are rising from the former site of a church at 8333 Airport Boulevard. The new four-story building will feature 102 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above subterranean parking for 78 vehicles when it opens.

According to a brochure posted to the Community Corp. website, the apartments will serve households earning between 30 and 60 percent of the area median income level.

The application window for the property has already closed.

KFA Architecture is designing apartment complex, which includes a pair of landscaped courtyards, community rooms, a rear yard, and case management offices for on-site service providers.

While Community Corp. is best known for its work in Santa Monica, the developer has looked outside of its hometown in recent years. Community Corp. previously developed a 50-unit affordable housing complex in Mar Vista, and is behind a proposed 78-unit building on Sepulveda Boulevard in Culver City.
