Palms Westminster United Presbyterian Church is seeking city approvals to redevelop its longtime home as part of a mixed-use affordable housing complex, according to a new application to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

The L-shaped property at 2908 S. Robertson Place, located just north of the I-10 Freeway, is slated for the construction of a trio of buildings featuring more than 100,000 square feet of floor area. The new construction would include seven-story buildigns containing up to 162 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, with a nearly 10,800-square-foot space for the church to be located on the ground floor.

As a fully-affordable housing project, the proposed development would rely on new bonus and streamlining programs created by the citywide housing incentive program, as well as the Mayor's Executive Directive 1.

JPark Architects is designing 2908 Robertson, which is portrayed in renderings as a contemporary podium-type building clad in stucco and porcelain tile.

The proposed development would abut a site at 8931 W. Helms Place where CityPads recently secured approvals for a 78-unit mixed-income development.
