HVN Development is doubling down on affordable housing near the Los Angeles River in Studio City, according to a new application to the Planning Department.
The Irvine-based developer is seeking entitlements to redevelop a property at 11143 W. Acama Street containing 18 existing apartments with a new five-story edifice containing 131 two-bedroom apartments.
Requested approvals include an affordable housing incentive program development bonus to permit a larger structure than would otherwise be allowed by zoning rules. All of the apartments are to be set aside for rent by extremely low-, very low-, low-, and moderate-income renters.
Stockton Architects is designing the contemporary low-rise structure, according to plans included with the entitlement filing.
HVN Development is also planning a similar project on Moorpark Street in Studio City, in addition to more than a dozen other affordable housing complexes across the Los Angeles area.
