Two blocks west of MacArthur Park in Westlake, construction is underway for a new affordable housing complex from RMG Housing.
Located at 668 S. Coronado Street, the project will consist of a seven-story building featuring 122 apartments above approximately 831 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and parking for 14 vehicles.
Plans call for a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments, 10 of which would be set aside for rent by very low-income households.
Donaldson + Partners is designing the contemporary podium-type building, according to plans approved by the City of Los Angeles.
The project site was originally entitled for development by Jamison Services, which also converted an adjoining office tower into the Atlas apartments. City records indicate the 668 Coronado Site sold for $7.5 million in 2023.
