At the border between Long Beach and Seal Beach, construction is underway for a large mixed-use apartment complex from developer Holland Partner Group.
The project, located at 6700 Pacific Coast Highway, spans a 2.5-acre property which Holland Partner Group acquired for $41 million in 2022. An office building which previously occupied the site was demolished over the summer. Plans approved in 2023 call for the construction of a more than 590,000-square-foot building containing 281 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, 3,100 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and parking for 507 vehicles.
As a condition of approval imposed by the City of Long Beach, 13 of the apartments are to be set aside for rent by very low-income households.
As of 2023, AC Martin was the architect attached to the project, which was named 6700 PCH for its address. Plans show a six-story structure with an E-shaped footprint above its podium level, creating space for amenity decks at the third floor.
The project is one of three large new developments announced for the surrounding stretch of Pacific Coast Highway in 2022, joining similar projects from Onni Group and Carmel Partners. The three developments, when completed, would create more than 1,300 new apartments.
Holland Partner Group has recently completed two similar developments in Downtown Long Beach, including the mixed-use Resa apartment complex at 250 Pacific Avenue.
