Affordable housing is taking shape on a freeway-adjacent site in Lincoln Heights.
At 343 S. Avenue 20, wood framing is complete for a five-story building that is slated to feature 46 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.
Plans approved by the City of Los Angeles indicate that the apartments are to be reserved for low- and moderate-income renters, save for a single manager's unit. That made the project eligible for both density bonus incentives and streamlining via the Mayor's Executive Directive 1.
Commun Associates is designing the contemporary podium-type building, per city records.
The owner and applicant attached to the development is the entity 20 Ave Holding, LLC.
On the other side of the I-5 Freeway, construction recently commenced for a larger affordable housing complex on City-owned property on Avenue 24.
