The Los Angeles City Planning Commission has approved a project which would raze a trio of existing apartment buildings in Pico-Robertson to clear the way for a larger multifamily residential development.
The project from applicant Chandler Sooferian, slated for a site located a west of La Cienega Park at 834-844 S. Holt Avenue, calls for the construction of a six-story building containing 47 one- and three-bedroom apartments with parking for 68 vehicles.
Commission approval was required for off-menu density bonus incentives to permit a larger structure tan otherwise allowed by zoning rules, eight of the apartments would be set aside for rent by low- and very low-income households.
Mika Design Group is designing the contemporary podium-type building, which would also include open spaces such as a courtyard and a rooftop deck.
The project site sits across Holt Avenue from a property previously approved for redevelopment with senior housing.
