A duplex and a single-family home in Glendale are set to give way to new multifamily housing, according to an item recently reviewed by the Glendale Design Review Board.
The project from property owner Toomas Properties, LLC, slated for a site at 1112-1118 N. Columbus Avenue, calls for the construction of a four-story building featuring 24 residential units above subterranean parking for 20 vehicles.
Plans call for a mix of one- and two-bedroom dwellings - ranging between 602 and 809 square feet in size - with four units to be set aside for very low- and moderate-income households in exchange for density bonus incentives permitting a larger building than otherwise allowed by zoning rules.
KTGY is designing the contemporary low-rise development, according to plans included with the presentation.
The project site is located not far north from a Hilton hotel tower at 100 Glenoaks Boulevard which is slated to be converted to housing.
