In Warner Center, work is underway for the second phase of The Alcove affordable housing complex, R.D. Olson Construction announced this week.
Located on the former site of an office building at 21300 W. Oxnard Street, the project from Meta Housing Corp. is expected to feature 301 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, as well as parking for 229 vehicles. The initial phase, called The Vale at the Alcove, was comprised of 173 residential units toward the back of the property. The second phase, Nova at the Alcove will include 128 units in a building fronting Oxnard Street.

A presentation given to the Woodland Hills Warner Center Neighborhood Council indicates that the apartments are to be reserved for renters earning between 30 and 80 percent of the area median income level.
AC Martin is designing The Alcove, which includes seven- and eight-story podium-type buildings. Plans show resident amenity decks, as well as new publicly-accessible open space flanking the western property line.

Completion of Nova is expected in Spring 2028, according to an R.D. Olson news release.
The project, which follows large market-rate developments in Warner Center such as the neighboring Vela on Ox apartments, is the latest affordable development for Meta in the San Fernando Valley. The West Los Angeles-based firm recently broke on a second Warner Center project nearby on De Soto Street, and is building a third on Vanowen Street.
