Two small apartment buildings located near Sunset and La Brea in Hollywood are slated to give way to a larger multifamily residential complex, according to an application recently filed with the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

The project from Generation Real Estate Partners, which would rise at 1344 N. Alta Vista Boulevard, calls for 10 existing homes to clear the way for the construction of a new five-story structure featuring 60 apartments and one accessory dwelling unit. The proposed development would also include parking for 44 vehicles.

Requested entitlements include citywide housing incentives to grant relief from certain zoning rules. In exchange, 12 of the new apartments would be set aside for low-income renters.

Kevin Tsai Architecture is designing the contemporary low-rise building, according to plans included with the filing.

The same project team has proposed a similar multifamily residential development not far away along Martel Avenue.
