The West Hollywood City Council has signed off on plans to build a mixed-use hotel and housing complex from Faring, reports the Beverly Press.
The Bond Hotel & Residences, planned for a site at 7811 Santa Monica Boulevard with frontage on both Orange Grove Avenue and Ogden Drive, calls for the construction of a series of seven-story structures featuring a 45-hotel room, as well as 126 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments with 4,473 square feet of ground-floor restaurant space and a two-level, 104-car parking garage.
Faring has proposed that 20 of the rental units be designated as affordable housing.
Kevin Tsai Architecture is designing the mixed-use complex, according to plans approved by the West Hollywood Planning Commission earlier this year.
The project was faced with pushback from members of Brick Fitness, a gym which would be forced to relocate for the project, as well as concerns from parents of a nearby school. Nonetheless, the City Council was obligated to approve the project due to state housing laws.
