A new affordable housing complex is under construction a few blocks northwest of the B Line's Hollywood/Western Station, according to permits recently issued by the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.
The project from Terra Capital, located on a roughly 11,000-square-foot site at 1740 N. Wilton Place, calls for the construction of a five-story building featuring 58 apartments without on-site parking.
According to approvals issued by the Department of City Planning, the project will include a mix of low-, very low-, and moderate-income housing.
Metropolis Architecture is designing the project, which is depicted in a rendering as a contemporary podium-type building. A landing page on the Terra Capital website indicates the building will have a U-shaped footprint wrapping a central courtyard.
The project follows several developments recently built to the south along Hollywood Boulevard, though those have been primarily market-rate housing. Other affordable housing projects in the works nearby include a 35-story supportive housing development that recently broke ground near the 101 Freeway.
Terra Capital is behind plans for numerous infill housing projects across Los Angeles, including recently-initiated plans for an affordable housing complex in Pico Robertson.
