Just south of Washington Boulevard in Del Rey, wood framing has reached its peak for a new affordable housing complex from Los Angeles-based developer Passo.

Located at 4129 Centinela Avenue, the project consists an eight-story building that will feature 72 studio and one-bedroom apartments without on-site parking when finished. The podium-type apartment complex replaced a commercial building that was once home to the New Flavors Chinese restaurant.

Passo entitled the site using density bonus incentives in exchange for the provision of affordable housing. All of the apartments at 4129 Centinela are to be rented to low- and moderate-income households, save for a single market-rate manager's unit.

Aero Collective is designing the project, which is depicted with a contemporary look in a rendering.

The project is one of numerous affordable housing developments Passo currently has in the works for communities on the Westside.

The development site is located just south of Centinela's intersection with Washington Boulevard in Culver City, where construction is also underway the long-delayed Culver Public Market.
