The Los Angeles City Planning Commission has approved a proposal which calls for clearing a collision repair shop in Sun Valley for the construction of housing.

The proposal from applicant Glenoaks Hills Rentals, Inc., slated for a property at 8465 - 8479 North Glenoaks Boulevard, calls for the construction of a four-story development featuring 93 apartments with parking for 127 automobiles.

Planning Commission authorization was required for density bonus incentives to permit a larger building than would have otherwise been allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, 19 apartments are to be set aside for rent by low- and very low-income households.

Unigraphics is listed as the architect of the project, which is depicted in a plans as a contemporary low-rise structure. Plans show that the building would include a courtyard along its southern property line.

The proposal has grown in size from what was initially slated for the property in 2021, when plans called for a smaller three-story development with 71 apartments.
