The project, which sits along the east side of Long Beach Boulevard at its intersection with 14th Street, consists of a new six-story building featuring 163 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments in addition to a community room, an outdoor courtyard, and a children's play area.

The Architects Collective is designing the colorful podium-type building, which is named Luma Point.

At the time it began construction, the more than $87-million development was to be reserved for renters earning between 30 and 70 percent of the area median income level.
