At a ceremony last week, Related California marked the completion of Belaira, a new affordable housing complex in Irvine.

The project, located at 386 Abascus in the Great Park neighborhood, was developed in collaboration with FivePoint and Riverside Charitable Corporation. The complex consists of 144 homes on roughly 6.45 acres, located within eight three-story buildings. Other components of the property include a community center, a leasing center, a pool building, maintenance facilities, and laundry facilities.

KTGY designed the project, which includes common amenities such as picnic areas, a dog run, and a large central green space. The apartments come in a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans, ranging from 629 to 1,168 square feet in size.

The apartments are earmarked for households earning between 30 and 60 percent of the area median income level, with rents ranging from $726 to $2,101 per month.

Other members of the project team include landscape architecture firm Clark & Green, Portrait Construction, Inc., Mannigan Design, Inc., and LifeSTEPS.

Related California and FivePoint have previously developed Luxaira, a similar affordable housing development near the Great Park.
