A ribbon-cutting ceremony held on April 4 marked the official debut of a new a new Cambria Hotel next to Hollywood Burbank Airport.
The project from Choice Hotels, built at 3501 N. San Fernando Boulevard, is located across the street from Metrolink's Burbank Airport - North Station. The six-story, 150-room hotel includes 1,131 square feet of meeting space, a fitness center, and outdoor courtyard, a library lounge, a grab-and-go market, and the restaurant RhuBAR.
AO designed the hotel, which has an L-shaped footprint wrapping around an outdoor pool.
The project was approved as a component of the larger Avion Burbank development, which included 1.25 million square feet of offices, industrial space, and retail on 60 acres of land next door to the airport.
The surrounding area could be in for more changes in the years to come. Hollywood Burbank Airport broke ground earlier this year on a new passenger terminal that should open by 2026, and a future stop on California High Speed Rail is planned at its front door.
The Burbank outpost is one of more than 70 locations for the Cambria hotel chain, including a similar 152-room location south of LAX airport in El Segundo.
