A year after our last update, the curtain has lifted at 6733 Sepulveda Boulevard in Westchester, site of a new multifamily residential development from Sandstone Properties.
The project, which replaced an office building and surface parking across the street from the Playa District, consists of a five-story structure that will feature 176 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments above parking for 245 vehicles. Plans also call for a game room, a swimming pool, and a rooftop deck.
Designed by Johnson Fain, the podium-type building has a facade of metal panels, which is expected to be inlaid with LEDs.
The apartment complex follows a series of new housing developments near the Playa District, including new projects completed Hanover Company, Equity Residential, and Mill Creek Residential. San Diego-based Fairfield Residential has also entered into the mix, with plans for 360 apartments adjacent to Dinah's Restaurant.
Sandstone, in addition to 6733 Sepulveda, recently secured approvals to build a 175-room boutique hotel less than one mile northeast in Culver City. The company's other projects include proposed apartment buildings in Canoga Park and Woodland Hills, as well as a hotel tower planned near the Los Angeles Convention Center.
