Just north of Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood, Massachi has completed work on an infill apartment complex with a unique, terraced profile.

The Tempest, located at 1130 N. Orange Drive, consists of a six-story building featuring 24 one and two-bedroom apartments above parking for 21 vehicles.

Massachi utilized density bonus incentives to entitle the site for a larger building than zoning rules would have otherwise permitted. In exchange, three of the new apartments are to be set aside as affordable housing at the very low-income level

The development site sits immediately north of the intersection of Orange and Santa Monica , where Onni Group previously completed a mixed-use project which will feature 231 apartments and ground-floor commercial space. That building, which scales down to two-story townhomes along its northern property line, mirrors the form of the Massachi project.

Massachi, in addition to The Tempest, is also developing mixed-use projects on Sunset and Santa Monica Boulevards.
