USA Properties Fund and the Irvine Company have commenced work on a $175-million affordable housing complex in Tustin.
The project, named Terracina at Tustin Legacy, broke ground earlier this month on a site located at 2265 Airship Avenue and 16055 Compass Avenue. Plans call for the construction of a pair of four-story buildings containing 338 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments.
Rents will be set for households earning between 30 and 60 percent of the area median income level.
The project is one component of the sprawling Tustin Legacy development, which is located on a former Marin Corps Air Station base and includes housing, offices, shops, restaurants, and parks. Over 9,000 homes are planned for the district, roughly half of which have already been completed.
Other recent Orange County projects from USA Properties fund include a senior housing complex in the City of Orange.
