Just north of the 10 Freeway in Sawtelle, framing is rising for a new multifamily residential building from developer Rick Dreyfuss.
The project, which replaced 10 residential units at 2450 S. Barrington Avenue, will consist of a six-story edifice featuring 40 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above parking for 61 vehicles.
Project approvals include Transit Oriented Communities incentives, permitting a larger structure than otherwise allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, seven of the new apartments are to be set aside for rent at below market rates.
Mika Design Group is designing the project, which is shown in plans as a contemporary low-rise structure.
The site sits a short walk to the south of the commercial corridor of Pico Boulevard, and not far north of a mixed-use building recently completed at the intersection of Barrington and Gateway Boulevard.
Dreyfuss and Mika Design Group have also worked on plans for a mixed-use building along Manchester Avenue in Westchester.
