A 1940s single-family home in Studio City could be felled for affordable housing through the Mayor's Executive Directive 1, according to an application submitted recently to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

The proposed project, which would rise from a parcel located at 12750 W. Moorpark Street, calls for the construction of a new five-story building which would feature 51 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.

The project applicant, listed as a principal with the Olympic-Barrington Partnership, are also seeking approvals using density bonus incentives to permit a larger building than normally allowed by zoning rules.

JZA Architecture is designing 12750 Moorpark, which is depicted in renderings as a contemporary low-rise structure capped by a rooftop deck.

The proposed development would rise just three blocks north of the Los Angeles River channel, as well as the Sportsmen's Lodge, which is primed for redevelopment with a mixed-use complex featuring 520 apartments and retail under a plan from property owner Midwood Investment & Development.
