In Mid-City, wood framing is complete for a new multifamily residential development from Trion Properties and Ketter Construction.

The project, built on a corner lot at 1500 S. Hi Point Street, consists of a five-story building that will feature 58 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments atop subterranean parking for 105 vehicles.

Project entitlements include Transit Oriented Communities incentives, which permit a larger structure than normally allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, seven of the new apartments are to be set aside for rent as extremely low-income affordable housing.

Renderings of the finished product show that the building will have a Mediterranean-style design. Common amenities will include a gym, a central courtyard, and a pair of rooftop decks.

Ketter and Trion have partnered on a number of similar multi-family residential-buildings in Mid-City, including a similar 45-unit apartment complex built one block south.

The site sits a short walk to the west of the intersection of Saturn and Fairfax Avenues, where construction is underway for a small lot subdivision.
