At the intersection of Melrose Avenue and Seward Street in Hollywood, construction is underway for a new office complex from Bardas Investment Group.
The project, named Echelon at 717 Seward for its address, is replacing a 1920s commercial building with a new five-story, 74-foot-tall development which will feature approximately 80,000 of offices, ground-floor commercial space, and a two-level, 168-car subterranean parking garage.
Otherworks is the design architect for the project, while House & Robertson is serving as executive architect. Renderings portray a modern low-rise structure composed of stacked, offset masses which create space for terrace decks and patios for use by tenants.
A landing page on the Bardas website indicates that completion of 717 Seward is expected in 2025.
West Hollywood-based Bardas is behind a number of office developments in the Hollywood neighborhood, including similar mid-sized projects on Cahuenga Boulevard and Fountain Avenue. The developer is also working with Bain Capital Real Estate on larger complexes featuring offices and soundstages at 5601 Santa Monica Boulevard and 6311 Romaine Street.
