It may have recently lost the Clippers to Inglewood, but Crypto.com Arena is ushering its 25th anniversary with the third phase of a nine-figure overhaul.
Ongoing since 2022, the project from AEG involves the addition of a new opening at the upper level of the arena, creating an indoor-outdoor space with views of the Downtown skyline to teh north. Other improvements focus on the various clubs within the arena, a makeover of its main concourse, the addition of new LED screens. Additionally, new food and beverage venues include:
- Doritos After Dark, billed as the first "Doritos" restaurant;
- fried chicken concept fuku by David Chang; and
- Ludobab and Trois Familia by chef Ludo Lefebvre.
Outside of the arena, AEG recently received city approvals to vacate the stretch of Chick Hearn Court which runs between the venue and the LA Live campus to the north. Construction is now underway for the project, which will convert the space into a pedestrian plaza with new digital signage.
Even bigger changes could be on the horizon. Construction is slated to begin in Spring 2025 for a long-awaited expansion of the Los Angeles Convention Center, which would later be accompanied by the addition of a new tower to the J.W. Marriott Hotel complex next door.
