A single-family home not far from Metro's Vermont/Santa Monica Station in East Hollywood is set to make way for affordable housing, according to a new application to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.
The Executive Directive 1 project, proposed by an entity affiliated with Angeleno Investments, would rise from a property located at 1178 N. Edgemont Street. Plans call for the construction of a new four-story edifice featuring 34 one-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.
The entitlement application also points to a request for density bonus incentives to permit a larger structure than zoning rules would otherwise allow. The project is eligible for incentives, as a fully affordable housing development.
Open Office is designing 1178 Edgemont, which is portrayed in a rendering as a contemporary low-rise structure, clad in stucco and perforated metal panels, and capped by a rooftop amenity deck.
Angeleno Investments and Open Office are also working on affordable housing developments in North Hollywood and Reseda.
