Plans for an affordable housing complex near the 405 Freeway in Long Beach are slowly progressing, with the release of a draft environmental impact report for the project.
Slated for a now-vacant site at 3401 Cerritos Avenue, the proposed development from West Hollywood Community Housing Corp. calls for the construction of a two-, three-, and five-story building containing a combined total of 73 apartments in a mix of one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom floor plans. Plans also call for 86 parking spaces.
Although all of the apartments would be deed-restricted affordable units, save for a legally-required manager's unit.
Urban Architecture Lab is designing 3401 Cerritos, which has previously been stated to include a courtyard, a community room, laundry facilities, and a fitness room.
After the start of work, construction would be completed over a roughly 16-month period.
West Hollywood Community Housing, best known for building in its hometown, has recently set its sights on other jurisdictions in Los Angeles County, with recent projects in Culver City and Los Angeles.
