A vacant site in Playa Vista is slated for redevelopment with affordable housing, according to an application recently filed with the L.A. Department of City Planning.

The proposed project from Killefer Development, slated for a property at 6985 S. Centinela Avenue, calls for the construction of a six-story building featuring 136 studio, one-, and three-bedroom apartments with parking for 46 vehicles.

The apartments would be fully affordable, according to a project description, making the application eligible for bonuses through the citywide housing incentives.

JZA Architecture is designing the building, which is depicted in a rendering as a contemporary podium-type structure.

The proposed project would rise adjacent to a former practice facility for the Los Angeles Clippers, which recently relocated to a new space next to Intuit Dome in Inglewood, and down the street from a mixed-use complex now taking shape at the intersection of Centinela and Sepulveda Boulevard.
