A single-family home in Hollywood is slated to make way for an Executive Directive 1 affordable housing development, according to a recent application to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.
RJGoldenRock, LLC, the owner and applicant behind the project at 5642 W. La Mirada Avenue, calls for the construction of a five-story building featuring 49 one-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.
Requested entitlements include density bonus incentives to permit a larger building than zoning rules would otherwise allow. The project eligible, as the apartments are to be restricted to rent by low- and moderate-income households.
KB Fard Architects is designing the project, which is depicted in renderings as a contemporary low-rise structure capped by a rooftop amenity deck.
The development site sits one block to the west of the US-101 Freeway, and one block to the north of the new Echelon Studios Hollywood complex now under construction on Santa Monica Boulevard.
