One year after breaking ground in Long Beach, a new affordable housing development from Meta Housing Corp. is fully framed at 1400 Long Beach Boulevard.

Located on the east side of Long Beach Boulevard at its intersection with 14th Street, the project consists of a new six-story building that will contain 163 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments in addition to a community room, an outdoor courtyard, and a children's play area.

The Architects Collective is designing 1400 Long Beach, while KPRS is serving as contractor. Renderings depict the finished product as a contemporary podium-type building.

At completion, the more than $87-million development is to be reserved for renters earning between 30 and 70 percent of the area median income level.
