One block from the K Line in Hyde Park, construction has commenced for a new income-restricted apartment complex from local developer RMG Housing.
Located at 3455 Slauson Avenue, the project calls for the construction of a six-story building featuring 75 apartments with parking for 10 vehicles.
According to an approval letter issued by the City of Los Angeles, the apartments are to be reserved for low- and moderate-income households. The project was entitled using a combination of density bonus incentives and streamlining through Executive Directive 1.
EDDG, Inc. is designing the apartment complex, which is depicted in a rendering as a contemporary podium-type building.
The project site is located immediately east of a site where a five-story mixed-use building with 63 apartments and retail space is currently under construction.
RMG Housing has built a handful of similar affordable housing developments in the City of Los Angeles, including multiple projects located on land owned by religious institutions.
