Just over one year after we last checked in, a new multifamily residential complex from SoLa Impact is nearing the finish line in Exposition Park.

The new development, located at the former site of the Alex Fish Market at 1451 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, consists of a five-story building featuring 50 one-bedroom apartments atop a community room at ground level.

SoLa Impact secured approvals using Transit Oriented Communities development incentives to permit a larger building than allowed by zoning rules, which also will not include parking.

EDDG, Inc. designed the contemporary podium-type building, according to city records.

The developer, SoLa Impact, has numerous affordable housing developments in the works across neighborhoods in South Los Angeles.
