Four existing rental units are slated to make way for affordable housing in Arlington Heights, per a recent application to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

The proposed project from applicant Edan Menachemov of Mena Midcity, LLC, slated for a site at 1638 S. Bronson Avenue, would single-story structures with a new five-story edifice featuring 36 one-bedroom apartments without on-site automobile parking.

Requested approvals include city development incentives to permit a larger structure than otherwise allowed by zoning rules. The project will be fully affordable housing, priced for low- and moderate-income renters, according to plans.

Aaron Brumer & Associates is designing the contemporary podium-type building, which would be clad in stucco.

The project site is located a short walk north of a property at Washington Boulevard and Norton Avenue where construction is underway for a mixed-income development with ground-floor commercial space.
