A single-family home just south of Temple Street in Historic Filipinotown is slated to give way to affordable housing via the Mayor's Executive Directive 1, according to a recent application to the City of Los Angeles.

The proposed development from Angeleno Investments, slated for a property at 217 N. Park View Street, calls for the construction of a new four-story edifice featuring 34 one-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.

Requested approvals also include density bonus incentives to permit a larger structure than zoning rules would otherwise allow. The project is eligible for incentives, as a fully affordable housing development reserved for low- and moderate-income renters.

Open Office is designing the proposed development, which is shown in plans as a  contemporary low-rise structure.

The project bears a striking similarity to several other affordable housing projects pitched by Angeleno Investments, which are all four-story buildings with between 30 and 40 apartments.
