The finish line is in sight for a new Cambria Hotel next-door to Hollywood Burbank Airport.
The six-story development from Choice Hotels, located at 3525 N. San Fernando Boulevard, sits directly across the street from Metrolink's Burbank Airport - North Station, which is served by the Antelope Valley Line. When open next month, the hotel will offer 150 guest rooms in addition to a bar, a fitness center, and meeting spaces.
AO designed the hotel, which has an L-shaped footprint wrapping around a pool courtyard.
According to a social media post from AO, the project team also includes general contractor Build Group, Inc., civil engineering firm Thienes Engineering, Inc., Ridge Landscape Architects, DLR Group, and FWC.
The project was approved as a component of the larger Avion Burbank development, which included 1.25 million square feet of offices, industrial space, and retail on 60 acres of land next door to the airport.
The surrounding area could be in for more changes in the years to come. Hollywood Burbank Airport has announced plans to open a new passenger terminal by 2026, which could see a future stop on California High Speed Rail at its front door.
