One year after commencing construction in Warner Center, construction has gone vertical for a new development from Spieker Senior Development Partners at 5500 Canoga Avenue.

Wisteria at Warner Center, which will span approximately 17 acres at the intersection of Canoga and Burbank Boulevard, calls for the construction of a six-story building which will contain 647 senior residential units - including 486 independent-living units, 65 assisted living units, 20 memory-care units and 76 skilled nursing beds.

Described as a "Life Plan Community," the complex will also include an on-site healthcare center and community amenities like ground-floor retail space and dining areas. Plans also call for open spaces reserved for use by residents such as a swimming pool, a fitness center, a library, a movie theater, and a performing arts center.

KTGY is designing Wisteria, which will have an L-shaped footprint, and is portrayed in renderings with a contemporary look.

W.E. O’Neil Construction is the general contractor for Wisteria, which was on track for completion in 2025 at the time of its groundbreaking.

The project is one of several which are set to transform large, superblock sites within the Warner Center area, where L.A. Rams owner Stan Kroenke owns a growing number of coveted development sites, and broke ground last year on a new practice facility for the team.
