Last month, LA Family Housing commenced work on a project that will transform a Panorama City motel into permanent supportive housing.

The property at 8209 N. Sepulveda Boulevard, which will reportedly be renamed "The Pano," is the target of a $60-million redevelopment that calls converting the existing motel into 41 apartments, while also new three-story building containing 50 residential units and space for on-site supportive services.

The resulting development would include 91 apartments, including 90 units restricted to low-income, formerly homeless households and one market-rate manager's unit. Surface parking for six vehicles would also be provided.

Plans included with the entitlement application indicate Los Angeles-based office42 is designing The Pano.

Completion of the project is expected in Spring 2026.

The project is the beneficiary of funding from one of the State of California's signature efforts to combat homelessness, Project Homekey, as well as Executive Directive 1, the City of Los Angeles initiative to streamline permitting and entitlements for permanent supportive housing projects.
