Community Corp. of Santa Monica has secured funding for the construction of a new affordable housing complex in Culver City, the non-profit developer announced via social media.
"We are thrilled to announce that our long-awaited Jubilo Village project received its final funding from {the California Debt Limit Allocation Committee]," reads the post to Facebook. "This has been a project put together in partnership with the Culver-Palms United Methodist Church and will feature 95 affordable homes for families with community and garden space."
The project, which will rise from a portion of the Culver-Palms church property at 4464 Sepulveda Boulevard, would include a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments reserved for households earning between 30 and 80 percent of the area median income level.
FSY Architects is designing Jubilo Village, which would stand six stories in height above a subterranean parking garage. Plans also call for two new buildings which would serve as a new home for Culver Palms United Methodist and its pre-school.
Construction of the housing complex is expected to commence in early 2025.
While Community Corp. has mostly focused its efforts on its hometown of Santa Monica, Jubilo Village will not be the first time the developer has ventured into neighboring jurisdictions. Community Corp. is currently building Redtail Crossing, the first supportive housing development in the Westchester neighborhood of Los Angeles.
