A presentation to the Glendale City Council unveils renderings for a proposed multifamily residential development three blocks east of Brand Boulevard.
The project from VK Group, slated for a site at 126-128 S. Kenwood Avenue, calls for the construction of a new five-story building featuring 40 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above parking for 73 vehicles.
Project plans rely on density bonus incentives to permit a larger building than allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, five of the apartments would be set aside for rent by very low-income households.
Urban Design Specialists is designing the contemporary podium-type development, which would include publicly accessible open space at the ground floor at its northwest corner, as well as resident amenities such as a rooftop deck.
A staff report recommends approval of state one preliminary design review for the project.
