Hollywood Community Housing Corp. has unveiled new looks for a pair of affordable housing developments planned for two city-owned sites in Santa Monica.
The two sites, located just south of Wilshire Boulevard, include surface parking lots located at 1217 Euclid Street and 1211-1217 14th Street. With the exception of manager's units, all of the proposed 130 apartments are to be rented to households earning between 30 and 60 percent of the area median income level.
At 14th Street, plans call for a six-story building featuring a total of 82 apartments - predominantly one-bedroom units - atop parking for 42 vehicles.
On the Euclid Street site, Hollywood Community Housing proposes another six-story building featuring 48 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above subterranean parking for 40 vehicles.
Both buildings, designed by Kevin Daly Architects, are shown with common spaces such as community rooms, laundry facilities, and rooftop terraces.
Other members of the project team include Morley Builders and The People Concern.
Not included in this update is a site on 16th Street which had previously been slated to be developed concurrently with the 14th and Euclid Street properties. According to a project website, affordable housing is no longer being pitched for this property, although Santa Monica has offered up other publicly-owned sites such for redevelopment to secure state approval of its housing element.
