In Atwater Village, SteelWave has unveiled the Casitas South Campus - the first component of a new office complex in Atwater Village.

Located along the east side of Casitas Avenue at its intersection with Tyburn Street, the full project will include more than 117,000 square feet of office space and a parking garage.

The South Campus, consisting of 80,000 square feet of space, includes private landscaped patios which blend into interior spaces. A representative of SteelWave indicates that the project has drawn the attention of Richard Branson's Virgin Group and Justin Bieber's clothing line Drew prior to completion.

The Casitas North Campus, the second component of the project, will feature approximately 50,000 square feet of additional space in the form of a media building.

The mix of adaptive reuse and new construction is designed by EYRC, and includes new roofs, skylights, and industrial-style glass and metal window systems that allow building interiors to have natural light. Original doors, hardware, and other architectural elements from preserved buildings have also been retained.

SteelWave is also the developer of The Press, a former Los Angeles Times printing plant turned 640,000-square-foot office complex, which has been leased to defense tech startup Anduril in a 10-year deal.
