The developer behind a pair of mixed-use apartment buildings catering to students near USC has a similar project in the works for in Orange County.
Core Spaces, the developer of the Hub on Campus Coliseum and the Hub on Campus Figueroa, will next build the Hub Fullerton - a new project at 2601 E. Chapman Avenue near Cal State Fullerton, Hope International University, and Pacific Christian College. Plans call for a six-story development featuring 359 residential units - including 1,047 beds - as well as a ground-floor commercial space.
“The building is designed with the students in mind. Lush landscaping, ample outdoor spaces, attention to local contextual materials and styles, and a highly amenitized program are all curated to make this building stand out from any other residential building in the area,” said Nathan Casteel, a principal with DLR Group, which is designing the project. “The project respects the context and enhances the public realm making this a project that contributes to the community. Bringing retail to this site will help revitalize the gateway to the campus and provide a more walkable community for its residents.”
The project, in addition to housing, will incorporate a rooftop deck, workspaces, fitness areas, and a publicly accessible paseo at street level. Plans call for a mix of traditional flats and townhome-style units with ground-floor terraces.
Hub Fullerton is expected to debut in Summer 2025, according to DLR Group.
