Meta Housing Corp. is going for an affordable housing hat trick in Pasadena.

A presentation to the Pasadena Design Commission offers a look at the West L.A.-based firm's plan for the Greenwood Colorado Apartments, which would rise from a site at 1946-1976 E. Colorado Boulevard. Plans call for the construction of a six-story development featuring 154 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above parking for 77 vehicles.

The project, which would be reserved for renters earning between 30 and 70 percent of the area median income level, is eligible for density bonus incentives to permit a larger structure than otherwise allowed by zoning rules.

Studio One Eleven is designing the roughly 173,000-square-foot project, which would incorporate a central courtyard, as well as several smaller open spaces scattered throughout the property.

The project is the third for Meta Housing in the near vicinity, following similar projects presented to the Design Commission at 2000 and 2155 E. Colorado Boulevard.

Per a project website, the Greenwood Colorado apartments are set to begin work in February 2027 and open by December 2028.
