Eight existing homes in West Adams are slated to make way for a larger apartment complex, per a recent application to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

The proposed development, which comes from an entity associated with Hinterland Projects, would rise from a site located at 2669 Redondo Boulevard. Plans call for the new construction of a six-story edifice featuring 23 one-bedroom studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above parking for 30 vehicles.

Requested approvals include Transit Oriented Communities incentives to permit a larger development than would otherwise be allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, three of the new apartments would be set aside for rent as affordable housing at the extremely low-income level.

Warren Techentin Architecture is designing the project, according to plans included with the filing.

The project site sits one block south of the intersection of Redondo and West Adams Boulevard, where work is ongoing for the new Museum of Ice Cream and other mixed-use projects from CIM Group.
