Just three months after our last update, the steel skeleton of the new Cedars-Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital has reached its peak.
Located on what was previously the site of a medical office building and parking lot at 4640-4660 Lincoln Boulevard, the nine-story tower is being built to replace the existing 1970s era hospital, which remains in operation.
HDR, Inc. is designing the approximately 190-foot-tall building, which is expected to initially provide a maximum of 96 patient beds, with capacity to later expand to 160 beds. Other project components include new operating rooms, cardiac catheterization and gastroenterology labs, interventional procedure suites, and an expanded emergency department.
Completion of the new building is expected by 2026, according to a recent project update from Cedars-Sinai.
Cedars-Sinai is rebuilding the Marina Del Rey Hospital due to a state law which requires the retrofit or replacement of acute care facilities prior to the year 2030. The hospital is next planning to expand and upgrade its main campus in Beverly Grove.
