A report to the Beverly Hills Planning Commission offers details on LVMH's plan to bring a Frank Gehry-designed Louis Vuitton flagship store to the site of the failed Cheval Blanc project.

The project, which would rise at 468 N. Rodeo Drive, given the address of 468 N. Rodeo Drive, would span the south side of South Santa Monica Boulevard from Rodeo to the west and Beverly Drive to the east. Existing commercial buildings - including a former Brooks Brothers and the former Paley Center for Media - are slated to give way to a three-story structure approximately 100,000 square feet of floor area and a basement parking garage.

The Rodeo Drive portion of the building would include 45,433 square feet of space, including a rooftop terrace, and would be used for retail purposes. The larger Beverly Drive wing, consisting of approximately 54,000 square feet of space, would include:

  • 24,294 square feet of museum space;
  • 6,298 square feet of space for a gift shop and related retail;
  • a 5,567-square-foot cafe;
  • a 150-seat restaurant; and
  • various back-of-house and mechanical spaces.

Gehry's design calls for the two buildings to be clad in metal, reminiscent of the Walt Disney Concert Hall, and connected through a series of tunnels and pedestrian bridges.

Gruen Associates is serving as the project's architect of record, and Peter Marino will reportedly design interior spaces.

Pending approvals, construction is projected to occur over 44 months starting in 2026 and concluding by June 2029.
