A pending presentation to the Pasadena Design Commission reveals updated plans for an infill development at 810 N. Marengo Avenue.
The project, last seen before the Commission in 2023, calls for the construction of a three-story building featuring 32 apartments above subterranean parking for 52 vehicles. A past presentation indicated that the project was relying on density bonus incentives to achieve relief from certain zoning rules, and would set aside a portion of its housing for very low-income households.
Since the prior presentation, applicant RAM Pasadena Development, LLC has retained a new architect and has restarted the design review process. EJA Design Studios, LLC is now attached the project, per the staff report.
"The proposed development consists of two building volumes that form a generally U-shaped footprint around two ancillary gardens and an open walkway to the main garden at the south side of the lot," reads a staff report. "The building to the north spans the length of the north, east and a portion of the south property lines in a U-shape."
The project is being presented for a preliminary design review, and additional hearings are expected at a future date.
