A mid-century industrial building located near the intersection of La Cienega and Washington Boulevards could be converted and expanded into offices, per a pending presentation to the Culver City Planning Commission.
Redcar Properties, the developer behind the project at 5880 W. Adams Boulevard, is seeking city approvals to add 27,000 square feet of space to an existing industrial building. The resulting project would consist of a nearly 49,000 square foot office building with parking for 67 vehicles.
Evan Raabe Architecture Studio is designing 5880 Adams, which would place two stories of concrete-clad construction above the existing brick building. Plans call for a three-story building in total, with carve-outs used to create amenity decks on all upper floors.
Construction is projected to occur over a 15-month period starting in the third quarter of 2024 and concluding by late 2025, according to a report included with the staff presentation.
Redcar, based in Santa Monica, has already established a track record in Culver City. Its prior work includes a completed development at 3516 Schaefer Street, an expansion of an existing campus on Jefferson Boulevard, and a proposed ground-up building on National Boulevard.
