Developer SCAH-LA continues to roll out plans for affordable housing using the Mayor's Executive Directive 1, according to a new application unearthed via ATC.
The latest project, proposed for a site at 1220 S. Veteran Avenue, would replace a five-unit apartment building completed just south of Wilshire Boulevard in the 1930s. Plans call for the new construction of a nine-story edifice featuring 96 one-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.
The fully affordable housing development would take advantage of state density bonus incentives to permit a larger structure than otherwise allowed by zoning rules.
Metropolis Architecture is designing the proposed project, which is shown in plans with an exterior of painted stucco.
SCAH-LA is attached to a number of a similar affordable housing developments planned across the City of Los Angeles. The company's Westwood project sits one block from the future site of Metro's Wilshire/Westwood Station, the penultimate stop on the D Line's extension to the Westside.
